Mobile Meals works to provide regular nutritional meals to low-income, elderly, and disabled individuals in Summit, Cuyahoga, and Portage County. Mobile Meals offers home-delivered meals that are either hot or frozen, depending on the individuals’ needs. The meals come from dietician-created monthly menus that meet daily nutrition requirements.
Although meals and supplements are the core of the Mobile Meals mission and program, clients receive additional benefits that contribute to their overall health and welfare. When meals are delivered, recipients also receive a daily safety and security check, which helps them stay independent in their homes and out of around-the-clock care and is also helpful to family members and caregivers. This security check also provides clients with some social interaction, helping to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness that are so common for home-bound individuals.
